Scholarships are approximately $2,500 each and are awarded to grade 12 students (2022-2023) with the best qualifications.

  

What is expected of a Choral Scholar?

Choral scholars are required to sing in the Chamber Choir of Pacific Spirit United Church, attending regular Thursday evening rehearsals (7:30 PM - 9:00 PM), Sunday morning services (9:15 AM - 11:15 AM), the annual Christmas Concert (December 11, 2:30 PM), the Christmas Eve 9:00 PM service and the Good Friday Morning Service (9:45 AM -12 noon). The term of the program is from September 8th to June 25th. You should consider how many hours a week you are willing to devote to your singing, and how that relates to your school work and your other activities. In general, you need to be an organized person, willing to forego extensive social or extra-curricular activities, in order to make such combinations work.

 

Are there any restrictions?

The Pacific Spirit Choral Scholarships are available to students who will be enrolled in grade 12 (2022-23) and who also meet the musical requirements of the position. All applicants must have a social insurance number.
