Sunday March 15th is Affirming PIE Day when we will celebrate our Public, Intentional and Explicit inclusion of 2SLGBTQIA+ people!! Please join the members of the Affirming Ministry Committee at the service and then for some delicious pie over at the Memorial Centre after church.

About the event
We will have a guest preacher, Sonya Taylor from Open Way Community Church!!
Sonya Taylor (they/them) is co-pastor of Open Way Community Church. They are a queer, disabled, chronically ill white settler living on unceded Coast Salish land with their partner, Lori, and their senior calico cat, Alice (who definitely runs the household). A lifelong Bible nerd, Sonya loves exploring fresh ways of understanding Scripture through the lens of justice and liberation, centering perspectives too often left out of the conversation. Originally from England and raised on ’90s Britpop, Sonya is fueled by Yorkshire tea, digestive biscuits, and a respectable amount of Marmite. In their spare time, they enjoy building LEGO, photographing graffiti and street art, and getting happily covered in sawdust while woodworking.
