Minister
Nik Sloat is called to the work of 'first third ministry.' This is name label that the United Church has started using to talk about people in roughly the first third of life. Basically, Nik serves children, youth, young adults, and their families. If Nik is one thing, he is curious. His ministry is marked by a desire to figure out ways to ask better questions. Nik is currently studying at Vancouver School of Theology, working toward ordination in the United Church. When he's not hyper-fixating on theology and ministry, you can find Nik with his spouse and their two kids going on shady walks, hanging out at the ocean, or relaxing at home playing Minecraft.
Nik's most influential theology writers have been Willie James Jennings, Soong-Chan Rah, Phyllis Trible, Karen Keen, and John Wesley.
